What level was ancient black African civilization at?

Ancient civilizations certainly existed in Southern Africa, and Zimbabwe is named after an ancient site.

Zimbabwe means "stone" in the Bantu language, which is why Great Zimbabwe is also known as the "Stone City". This stone city is rich in African culture, and the former Monomotapa Kingdom was the culmination of this Zimbabwean culture.

The Kingdom of Monomotapa, located in today's Zimbabwe and Mozambique, was a very important civilization in ancient Southern Africa, also known as the Kingdom of Mweni Matapa, and was famous for its "Stone City" and gold trade.

It is widely believed that the Kingdom of Monomotapa was founded between the 10th and 12th centuries A.D., and its demise was marked by the murder of Mweni Matapa's chief, Pacto, by the Portuguese in 1917.

The supreme ruler of the Kingdom of Motapa was the king, who was the administrative head of the country as well as the commander of the army and had the highest authority in the country, and under the king there were the governor's office, the king's guard, the secret police, the musicians, and the sorcery organization. The succession system of the Motapa Kingdom is similar to that of the Oriental autocratic system.

The architectural complex of Great Zimbabwe represents the level of civilization of the people of the time, and even though Africa has gradually lagged behind many countries of the world in the course of Western colonial invasion in recent times, they have created equally brilliant civilizations in the past.
