PDCA cycle was first proposed by American quality management expert Walter A. Shewhart. It was adopted, publicized and popularized by Deming, so it is also called pdsa.

The idea and method of total quality management is based on PDCA cycle. The meaning of PDCA cycle is to divide quality management into four stages, namely, planning, implementation, inspection and action.

In the quality management activities, it is required to plan, implement and check the implementation effect as planned, and the successful ones will be included in the standards, and the unsuccessful ones will be left to the next cycle.
