Taboos in Minnan Spring Festival
On the first day of the first month, don't sweep the floor, don't take out the garbage, and avoid sweeping the wealth out of the house. People who have wells don't carry water, or money (wells, Minnan dialect) will be gone. Don't cry, don't quarrel with others, don't beat and scold children.
Sacrifice the dead at home in the third grade, and you can't visit at home. At the same time, avoid quarreling or arguing with others, or the good luck of the year will be ruined. On the fourth day of the fourth day, the kitchen god entered the house and should not go far. The tenth day is not suitable for grinding stone tools. The lights on the fifteenth day of the first month can't be left until next year.
Don't owe money during the Spring Festival, and don't urge debts. Minnan people pay attention to the auspicious New Year, and generally borrow money or debt before the New Year. If they do this after the New Year, they may have bad luck in the following year.
Don't step on the threshold when you are a guest at home, lest you step on bad luck. Don't drink soup at the first bite of your meal, or you will be caught in the rain for a year.
Don't break dishes and other utensils during the Chinese New Year, or your good luck will be destroyed in one year. If you accidentally break them, you should throw the pieces into the well at once.
You can't turn off the lights at home on New Year's Eve, the first day, the fifth day and the Lantern Festival, so that the auspicious light will stay forever.

Year-end cleaning
In order to welcome the new year, we should clean all kinds of farm tools and articles, and use dusters made of straw and tender bamboo branches and leaves to clean up the dust cobwebs on the corner beams, so that we can spend the New Year refreshed. This day is also called Dust Day.

Bowl cakes are also called scones. In southern Fujian, such as Quanzhou, Jinjiang, Shishi and other coastal areas, in order to have a good Spring Festival, they will sprinkle powder and steam "bowls of cakes" to symbolize making a fortune in the coming year.

On New Year's Eve, every family sits around to have a reunion dinner. The ninth day of "born in the sky"
On the eighth day of the eighth month, five sacrifices, five fruits and golden paper candles are prepared, pigs and sheep are slaughtered, midnight 12, "Tianshou" is celebrated, "Tiandeng" is lit, "Tianzuo" is placed, incense is burned and firecrackers are set off, and the prepared rich offerings are used for offering sacrifices to the gods.
Fifteenth anniversary lantern festival
This is a lively festival, and eating glutinous rice balls, lanterns and solve riddles on the lanterns are essential items. From the 14th to 16th of the first month, there are often street activities in Xiamen, such as dragon dancing, lion dancing, walking on stilts, car drumming and so on. Quanzhou also has a distinctive Lantern Festival, which is really lively.

The second day of "son-in-law's day"
The married daughter took her husband and children back to her parents' home to visit relatives. Daughter-in-law who has no parents or relatives in her parents' house should stay at her husband's house to help. This is the so-called "father, mother, junior high school, no father, no mother to bear."
The fourth day of the fourth lunar month.
Send the twelfth lunar month to heaven, marry the god who thanked the jade emperor and enter the palace, and pray for the blessing of the gods and buddhas, so that the whole family will be safe and happy in the new year.

Construction can start in these two days, shops will reopen, and farmers will go to the fields to prepare for spring ploughing.
