Brief introduction of foundation pond production
Tangji agriculture is a new agricultural management system established by working people in the Pearl River Delta region of China in the long-term agricultural production practice. A pond is a pond and a small piece of land around it. This agricultural production includes mulberry fish ponds, sugarcane fish ponds and fruit fish ponds. There are many low-lying places in the middle of the Pearl River Delta, and the water will not retreat during the rainstorm. After artificial transformation, the depression was dug into a pond for breeding, and the excavated soil was piled around to form a "foundation". The "base" can not only prevent the pond from flooding during the rainstorm and flood, but also plant mulberry, sugarcane and fruit trees on the surface of the "base". For example, planting mulberry trees on the "base" can raise silkworms, and silkworm excrement can be put into the pond as bait for fish, and the pond mud decomposed by fish and microorganisms becomes fertilizer for crops on the "base". The two promote and utilize each other to form an amphibious material circulation system supporting the base and pond, thus improving the utilization rate of resources and economic benefits. This is an outstanding example of making full use of land resources, turning unfavorable conditions into favorable conditions and transforming nature in China's agricultural production.
