Performance data of paper battery

Nanomaterials used in paper batteries are very special. They are one-dimensional structures with extremely small diameters, which help the ink made of nano-materials to stick tightly to paper, making batteries and supercapacitors very durable. The life of paper capacitor may be as long as 40000 charge and discharge cycles.

Like traditional batteries, the components of this new battery also include electrodes, electrolytes and separators. Specifically, this new paper battery is composed of cellulose paper implanted with electrodes and electrolyte, in which cellulose paper plays the role of diaphragm. Electrodes are carbon nanotubes added to cellulose and metallic lithium covered on a film made of cellulose; The electrolyte is lithium hexafluorophosphate solution. Scientists at Rensselaer Institute of Technology made this new paper battery by integrating three parts of the battery into a piece of tissue paper.

The research shows that this new paper battery can generate 10 mA per gram at 2 volts. It is reported that this new battery has many important characteristics, such as flexibility, besides innovative manufacturing methods. This new paper battery is mainly composed of cellulose, so it retains some characteristics of paper and has good flexibility. Experiments show that the battery has strong adaptability to temperature and can be used normally in the temperature range of -70℃ to 150℃.
