Synopsis

Jo (Saoirse Ronan), who has to discuss her first draft with her publisher's bosses, often thinks back to her noisy but warm home, where she says, "I'm going to take charge of my own life. Meg (Emma Watson), who is beautiful and desperate for love, and Beth (Eliza Scanlon), who is introverted and kind.

The four sisters, Amy (Florence Poe), who loves art, and herself, who seems to be a rebel but is very opinionated, are four very different sisters who, after experiencing drastic changes in war, family, and love during the Civil War, are still able to imagine their own lives with the courage to understand and support each other. For them, growing up may be about trying to live with ideas and soul, to become the person they are most proud of.
