The importance of subjunctive mood

With the development of modern English, people have different views on the importance of subjunctive mood. Some domestic grammarians have completely denied the existence of this grammatical form. Some grammarians believe that subjunctive mood is a grammatical category in modern English, but it is not very important, and it is only slightly involved in their grammatical monographs. More traditional grammarians insist that subjunctive mood has always been an indispensable grammatical category in English. So we can't and can't deny its existence and importance. The author agrees with the third view, that is, although subjunctive mood is occasionally similar to declarative mood and imperative mood in form, it meets the requirements of the meaning and form that a grammatical category should have, so the existence of this grammatical category cannot be denied, and subjunctive mood is still active in various English styles, such as various English tests in China. For English learners in China, the importance of subjunctive mood is obvious. Based on the necessity and importance of subjunctive mood, this paper discusses the various forms and classifications of subjunctive mood and the practical significance of mastering subjunctive mood as a grammatical category.
