What is the difference between qigong and aerogong
Qigong has a long history in China, and the content of qigong is usually referred to in ancient times as "spitting", "guiding", "walking", "serving", "alchemy", "monasticism", "sitting", etc. In ancient books, there are few references to qigong. In the ancient book records rarely have "qigong" word, occasionally appear "qigong" reference, but also no complete explanation.
Until the 1950s, Liu Guizhen wrote in his book The Practice of Qigong Therapy: "The word 'qi' here represents the meaning of breathing, and the word 'gong' means constantly adjusting breathing and posture. It is generally believed that the word "qigong" has since been recognized and spread. Some foreign materials translate qigong as "deep breathing exercise method", and some domestic tools are also copied as such, obviously not recognizing the true meaning of qigong, in fact, qigong exercises include breathing, body potential, and ideas of three types of means, each type of means and a variety of exercise methods, deep breathing is just one of the many breathing exercise methods. It can be seen that the definition of qigong as a "deep breathing exercise method" is too one-sided.
In fact, ancient health practitioners believed that "air" and "qi" were two different concepts. In layman's terms, "air" is the body's initial innate energy source, while "qi" refers to the energy produced by breathing and eating later in life. Qigong exercises are mainly used to connect the innate "air" through the latter's breathing and other methods, so as to achieve the effects of health and fitness, and prolong life.
If we define qigong from the perspective of Chinese medicine, it is a method of exercise that harmonizes one's own qi through self-exercise in regulating one's spirit.
With the forward development of science, we can use the relevant knowledge of modern science to recognize qigong, which will deepen our understanding of the essence of qigong.
If we look at it from the perspective of modern behavioral medicine, qigong exercise is a kind of behavioral therapy in which one learns and trains a kind of benign behavior that is conducive to the health of the mind and body and eventually fixes it by way of conditioned reflexes.
If we look at the psychophysiological process of qigong, we can define qigong as a self-exercise method that uses self-suggestion as the core means to induce consciousness to enter a state of self-hypnosis and to adjust the balance of the mind and body through the mechanism of psychophysiological-morphological self-adjustment, so as to achieve the goal of fitness for the treatment of diseases.
