The Book of Changes says, "The Yellow Emperor, Yao Shun, hung down their clothes and ruled the world, covering all the Gansu and Kunming." According to historical records, the Yellow Emperor made clothes and figures. It should be said that Chinese civilization began here. Therefore, later generations called the Yellow Emperor the ancestor of Chinese culture, while China people claimed to be descendants of Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor. There are many historical records about the deeds of Emperor Xuanyuan, such as Historical Records, but there are no special books to discuss his thoughts. Therefore, people who talk about China orthodoxy since ancient times started from Tang Yao, not the Yellow Emperor. Shangshu, one of the Five Classics, is the first book, namely Yaodian. Tang Yao's road to leveling the world is systematically expounded in it. Avenue, from Yu Shun, from Yu Shun to, through Shang Tang, Wen, Wu and, to Confucius. Confucius gave lectures on weekdays, and disciples selected The Analects. Ceng Zi, a disciple of Confucius, wrote The University, and Zi Zisi, a disciple of Ceng Zi, wrote The Doctrine of the Mean, and Zi Zisi spread it to Mencius. The theory of Four Books comes down in one continuous line with Biography of Historical Records and Huo Zhi, just like Jeff.
During the 2000 years after the beginning of Chinese civilization, the fundamental method of governing the country by emperors was based on Taoism. The standard to measure whether a civilization is advanced is this orthodoxy, that is, the kingly culture founded by Yao, Shun, Yu, Tang, Wen, Wu and Confucius.
Second, a hundred schools of thought contend.
In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the ceremony collapsed and the music was bad, and the princes were separated, and the world was in chaos. For the first time, the criteria for judging the advanced nature of culture were blurred. From time to time, Taoists, yin and yang scholars, legalists, Mohists, famous artists, military strategists, peasants, miscellaneous scholars and so on come out. Orthodoxy, which lasted for more than two thousand years, degenerated into Confucianism.
Compared with Confucianism, other philosophers are more or less utilitarian. For example, Legalists emphasize the name of severe punishment and the battle of self-cultivation. In today's words, it is to develop the economy, strengthen national defense and establish a society ruled by law, which was the most important thing for the rulers at that time. In the end, the state of Qin was dominated by legalists and unified the world by force. Qin Cai II died more than 20 years ago. In the early Han Dynasty, the technique of Huang Lao was used, that is, the Tao ruled the world. Taoism emphasizes inaction, attaches importance to politics, and has considerable maneuverability, which played a great role in nursed back to health in the early Han Dynasty.
At this time, the great Confucian still insisted on the dominant position of kingly culture. During the reign of Emperor Hanming in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Buddhism was introduced to China through the Western Regions, initially spreading ideas as an alchemist at that time. By the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the world was falling apart, the cultural judgment standard was once again in crisis, and the development of Buddhism began to show an upward trend. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, scholar-officials were keen on metaphysics and spoke freely. To the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and thereafter, Buddhism flourished. Few people don't believe what they say, from emperors and princes to vendors and pawns. It can be said that this is obvious evidence that the cultural evaluation criteria are blurred again. Liang Wudi preached Buddhist scriptures in Wu Zetian's court ... Of course, the emperor's worship of Buddhism is only a personal hobby. When it comes to the country and national affairs, we still can't turn our backs on Confucian orthodoxy.
In order to meet the challenge of Buddhism, Zhong Shuo was written in Sui Dynasty, and Yuan Dao was written by Han Yu in Tang Dynasty, which re-established the kingly culture founded by Yao, Shun, Yu, Tang, Wen, Wu and Confucius as the standard of cultural evaluation. In the Song Dynasty, the Neo-Confucianism system was established and the development of Chinese civilization was back on track. It can be said that the establishment of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties was a great cultural renaissance in the history of China civilization.
Fourth, the summer of barbarians.
In the 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization, it has been accompanied by harassment and invasion by barbarians around it. "Shangshu Hao Tao Mo" records: "Savage summer, bandits and thieves rape." At the end of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the dog Rong invaded Haojing. Later, there were Xiongnu in Qin and Han Dynasties, Xianbei in Northern and Southern Dynasties, Turkic in Sui and Tang Dynasties, and Qidan and Jurchen in Song Dynasty, all of which seriously threatened the development of Chinese civilization. It's just that these ethnic groups have been building strong or weak local governments for thousands of years, which has not caused a fatal blow to Chinese civilization. By the end of the Song Dynasty, the form had completely changed. For the first time in Mongolian history, the Huaxia nationality was completely conquered. Hundreds of years later, Manchu once again completely conquered the Chinese nation. During this period, Chinese civilization suffered unprecedented destruction and devastation. People in the Yuan Dynasty were divided into ten classes, and Confucian scholars ranked ninth between beggars and prostitutes. During the Cultural Revolution, intellectuals were called smelly Laojiu, which was the reason. In the Qing Dynasty, it was forced to undress and change clothes, and a literary prison was built in Daxing. By compiling Sikuquanshu, we burned and tampered with the literature classics. Fortunately, neither of these two nationalities has its own history of civilization, and the history of writing before entering the customs is almost blank. Therefore, although the Mongols divide the Han people into three or four classes, and the Manchu people regard the Han people as domestic slaves and have always practiced racial discrimination, culturally, they still regard Chinese civilization as orthodox, and the standards of cultural judgment have not been reversed.
Five, the spread of western learning to the east
As early as the Ming Dynasty, Western learning influenced China with missionary activities. During the Qing Dynasty, Catholicism spread more and more frequently in China. The emperor of the Qing Dynasty claimed to be orthodox in China, which restricted the development of western religions. While the collision of civilizations is deepening, the economic and trade relations between China and the West are also developing. China's tea, porcelain, cotton cloth, silk, local products, etc., which are sold to the west, are people's daily necessities and have a broad market. Many products imported from the west to China are emerging products after the industrial revolution, which can't meet the consumption demand of China people at that time and can't open the market. Western countries have long been at a disadvantage in the trade deficit with China. Westerners did not want to see a large amount of silver pouring into China from the mainland, and finally chose to protect the opium trade, which led to the outbreak of the Opium War. The result of the war is self-evident, broadsword and spear are no match for strong ships and strong guns anyway. After the defeat of the war, China people began to be forced to learn from the West.
At first, China people were sober, and they still adhered to the orthodox cultural evaluation standards founded by Yao, Shun, Yu, Tang, Wen, Wu and Confucius. At that time, it was clear that in terms of moral culture, western culture could not be compared with China culture.
The difference between China culture and western culture is actually the difference between kingly culture and overbearing culture, and the difference between gentleman culture and villain culture. Confucius said: a gentleman is righteous and a villain is profitable. Western culture is a typical villain culture, serving people with strength and valuing strength and interests. China's culture is a standard gentleman's culture, serving people with virtue and advocating benevolence and righteousness.
However, in the face of the challenge from western hegemonic culture, we can't just talk about benevolence and righteousness. It doesn't make sense with intruders, robbers, villains and gentlemen.
Tolstoy wrote to Gu Hongming in the late Qing Dynasty: China people are noble people, while westerners are bandits. If a noble nation resists bandits in the form of bandits, its moral nobility will be affected and become immoral.
However, the Christian idea of non-violence and non-resistance and good for evil is unacceptable to China people. The response of China culture to injustice is direct accusation, and it advocates resisting evil forces with the power of justice, so as to realize human justice.
To resist evil, we must first have the strength to compete with evil forces. This kind of power cannot be possessed by China culture itself, and it has been regarded as heresy and ignored in history. At this time, China people had no choice but to learn from the West.
When studying the west in detail, the initial plan is to learn this "villain culture" first, drive away the villains, and then restore our gentleman culture. To this end, Zhang Zhidong proposed a compromise method, called "Chinese style and western use". Morality is China's, and the use of merit is western.
Originally, the purpose of China people learning from the West in the Qing Dynasty was to protect the country, species and education. Protecting the country, protecting species is the means, and protecting education is the purpose. It is not terrible to die, but it can rejuvenate the country. Wang Mang usurped the Han Dynasty and Wu Zetian usurped the Tang Dynasty, which can be described as national subjugation, but in the end the country can be restored. Mongolia destroyed the Song Dynasty and Manchuria destroyed the Ming Dynasty, which can be described as a disaster, but it can eventually restore the world. The revelation of death is to return people to the barbaric state of animals and make society fall into a state of perdition. This is the most terrible thing. Because China people learn from the West, their country has been protected, their species has been protected, but their education has died out. China has become the most unique country without "religion" in the world.
At first, Zeng Guofan advocated middle school as the main body and kingly culture as the main body, while Zhang Zhidong advocated the compromise use of Chinese style and western style. When he arrived in Kang Youwei, he called for studying Gongyang in the Spring and Autumn Period, reforming the system and advocating constitutional monarchy. What he is talking about is the reform of entrusting orphans, not the kingly political system with China characteristics, but the parliamentary democracy in the West. Although he also emphasized China culture as the main body, he changed the specific content to western culture. At this point, the kingly culture has existed in name only.
In the Republic of China, Sun Yat-sen confidently transformed the style of China culture into the style of western culture. The symbolic meaning of China culture is gone. Sun Yat-sen was slightly better than the later May 4th intellectuals. Sun Yat-sen did not completely abandon China's cultural tradition, and his Three People's Principles also emphasized nationalism, although China's cultural tradition under this nationalism is only a tool to unite the people and resist foreign aggression, which has no real significance. After the May 4th Movement, new democracy, whether in kind or in teaching, has completely become a western thing. Freedom, democracy and human rights are the noumenon of western culture, while liberalism, democracy and socialism are the teachings of western culture.
This can be said to be the drastic change of Chinese civilization since 5,000 years. King culture, which has always been regarded as the only criterion to judge whether culture is advanced, is not ambiguous at this time, but completely reversed and overthrown!
VI. Evaluation criteria

On this basis, strength, hegemony, utility, efficiency and desire all rise to positive values. This is a hegemonic culture and utilitarian culture. Modern western utilitarian culture began with Protestant reform. As a result of the religious reform, those worthless or even anti-valuable things were transformed into the most valuable or even sacred things, thus developing extremely utilitarian and extremely secular western modern culture. Weber said that the spirit of capitalism originated from Protestant ethics. The spirit of capitalism is the spirit of utilitarianism
China's traditional culture always puts morality, benevolence and righteousness in the first place, and pursues goodness and justice. If modern western culture is hegemonic culture, utilitarian culture, secular culture and power culture, then China traditional culture is kingly culture, moral culture, comity culture and sage culture. People can judge what kind of culture is the most advanced in human history by their own conscience. In the past two decades, more and more people have paid attention to traditional culture, and the degree of studying traditional academics has become deeper and deeper. I believe that in the near future, Chinese civilization will realize a great rejuvenation. Shi Yun: Although Zhou was an old country, his life changed. Mencius said: A saint is seen once in 500 years. Yang is dead. As for today, it has been hundreds of years. We can wait!
Confucianism-the spiritual existence of the Chinese nation

Establish heaven and earth, strive for people's livelihood, link the past with the future, and create a peaceful future. What Mr. Hengqu said is a true portrayal of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty. At that time, there was Lu Xiangshan, who respected virtue as the Sect, and the Lord made the biggest one first. It can be said that Confucianism rose suddenly in the Song Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, Yangming inherited his theory and carried it forward. This is called psychology. From then on, I got rid of the predicament of Buddhism in China, and the literati regained their integrity. When the country is in danger, there are many people who died for the country. This is the merit of Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties. Rousseau took advantage of the civil strife in China, stole my artifact, shaved his hair and changed his clothes. Since then, China's spirit has died. It has been more than 260 years since the demise of the Qing Dynasty, but there are no outstanding scholars. Is it accidental? Therefore, people who talk about Confucianism today are either in Liu Yun or in Wang Fu. Liu Jishan can die, and Wang Fuzhi can make all his hair loyal. Beggars' Sect Confucianism is not the so-called rote memorization of words and sentences, but also honest and honest. Shunde tianxia theory

So the ministers recommended Shun, Xiao and Di. Shunxiao serves parents, friends and brothers. Autonomy by doing good rather than evil. Therefore, Mencius said: the way of Yao and Shun is filial piety.
The emperor promised his virtue, but he wanted to try it himself to test its effect. The emperor said: I'll try. If a woman is a woman, she will be punished for observing two women, and she will be degraded by two women. The emperor said: Qin zai!
Therefore, the emperor is as smooth as possible, and the couple's way is also. Zhuangzi said: Two women try to see what's inside. The Doctrine of the Mean says: The way of a gentleman is formed by husband and wife, and it is based on heaven and earth.
Confucius said: it is difficult to raise a woman only. If you are near, you feel inferior; if you are far away, you complain.
If the husband is successful, he can support others, which is difficult to support and not the ultimate virtue!
Nowadays, scholars want to be independent and rule the world, but they ignore the difference between men and women and the love between husband and wife, can they?
"The Doctrine of the Mean" says: If the lower level is not the upper level, the people can't get it and rule it. If you get the right method, don't trust your friends, you won't get it. Trust your friends, but don't trust your relatives. Don't trust your friends. If you follow your relatives, you will be dishonest, but you will not follow your relatives.
It originated from Yao and Shun, inherited from Zhou, Confucius and Mencius, and spread to, all of which taught people to do what they can. The doctrine of the mean says: there are five ways in the world, so those who do it are three. King and minister, father and son, husband and wife, brother Kun, and friend. Fifth, the way of the world is also.
Therefore, Mencius said: there is no other way to learn, just ask him to rest assured. As for the way to seek peace of mind, I am good at cultivating my integrity. It's anger. I'm so angry It's harmless to raise it directly, but it's stuck between heaven and earth. It is qi, righteousness and Tao. There is nothing to lose. It comes from the collection of righteousness and also from the attack of righteousness.

Mencius said: the crow of chickens is good, and those who follow it will follow it. When chickens crow, people who breed for profit will also be people who eat. Or ask the cock crow and don't answer it, what should I do? Cheng Zi said: Just respect.
Those who are covered with so-called filial piety don't have to bow their heads in front of their parents and brothers. If my husband lives in a foreign land, or under the eaves of a house, it is filial to drop a pitcher and a foot. Xiao Jing said: those who love their loved ones dare not be wicked; Respect your relatives and don't neglect others. People dare not, what about ghosts and gods? Zeng Zi said: What you see with ten eyes and what you point to with ten hands is strict! Therefore, to honor a gentleman, we must be cautious and independent.
Be respectful and cautious, and be filial. As for loyalty, courtesy, righteousness as a husband, obedience as a woman, faith as a friend and filial piety as filial piety. Five virtues, one in Tao. You don't lack anything, you can have the rest. Therefore, later gentlemen must have five senses, interrogate them, think carefully, distinguish them clearly, and stick to them, so that they can place their hopes on saints and saints, but they are not bad.
Harado
Road, road also. The road that one can only walk is the road that one can't walk. The outline of Tao lies in the principle of interpersonal relationship and the correct way of doing things in daily use. It turns out that the reason why things should be done is rooted in heaven. Mr. Hengqu said: Too empty, there is a name of heaven; From gasification, there is a name. Heaven is right. People who live in the sky are also angry, gray and intangible. The air of one yuan flows out, people are born, everything is transformed, and Tao begins.
The doctrine of the mean says: Destiny is nature, and frankness is the Tao.
Gifted, that's called fate. What is received by it is called nature. Taking the initiative is also the way to say it. It is reasonable for men to be Taoist priests and men to be passers-by, and daily personnel are happy. It is also the road from ancient times to modern times, hence the name "Tao".
Tao is nothing, nothing is nothing.
One said: One yin and one yang is the Tao. Yin and yang, qi, and things. Tao, reason, yin and yang, metaphysics.
One said: the metaphysical is the Tao, and the metaphysical is the device. Tao and implement are also integrated. If the monarch and his subjects are just, the just people are Taoists, and the monarch and his subjects are instrumental, then there is no such thing as a just person except the monarch and his subjects. Father and son have relatives, relatives are Tao, and father and son are tools. There are no so-called relatives except father and son. The difference between husband and wife, the order of generations, and the letter of friends are also the same.
The husband is in charge of things for his own reasons. The bulk density of feet is enough, and it is natural that heavy people are enough. Hands are respectful, hands are material, and it is natural to respect people's hands. See the light, listen smart, sit like a corpse, stand like a neat, and compete with each other. Through the ancient and modern without waste.
The foundation of Tao comes from heaven. Before heaven and earth, there is reason first. If you are rational, you will be angry. Attention exists in qi, not in qi. Qi is everywhere, and reason is everywhere. The cultivation of all things in the world and the daily context of interpersonal relationships are all born and coexist with them. Tao is inseparable for a moment. Therefore, people who want to ask for Tao must get a lot of reasons in their daily life, and then understand how to make full use of Tao. If we give up human relations and transcend the second spirit, the poor rope is not as wonderful as the beginning of heaven and earth, then more and more, farther and farther away from the Tao. The doctrine of the mean says: man is not far from Tao. Those who are far from Tao cannot be Tao.
Therefore, Ceng Zi said: Master's way is loyalty and forgiveness. The doctrine of the mean says: there are five ways in the world, so those who do it are three. Yue, father and son, husband and wife, brother Kun, friend. Fifth, the way of the world is also. Mencius said: I am good at cultivating my noble spirit. It is also qi, as big as nothing, as big as heaven and earth. Therefore, those who raise them are born in the collection of benevolence and righteousness. The doctrine of the mean says: the sincere person gets the way of heaven, and the sincere person gets the way of man. Honest people don't want to be caught in the middle, they can get it without thinking, let it be and be a saint. Those who are sincere choose good and stubborn.
Tao is popular between heaven and earth, everywhere and indispensable. Above, kites fly in the sky, below, fish jump in the fish circle, which is nothing more than a way.
The doctrine of the mean says: all things are born without harming each other. Tao is parallel, not opposite.
Mr. Kang Jie said: Heaven is born by Tao, the earth by Tao, things by Tao, and people by Tao. The characters in heaven and earth are different, but the Tao is different. The husband is also a Tao, and the Tao is also. Tao is invisible, and what you do is what you see in things. If the road is calm, after hundreds of millions of years, people know that it will be returned. Or: the length of a gentleman, then a little human nature disappears. A scholar's way disappears, and a villain's length disappears. If the old man is here, he will be gone, and if he is gone, he will be gone. How do you know the right way and the wrong way? Whew! The thief's wife. Don't say you do your thing, I do mine, the father does his thing, the son does his thing, the husband does his thing, the wife does his thing, the gentleman does his thing, the villain does his thing, China does China's thing, and Yidi does Yidi's thing. This is the right way. You do things for ministers, I do things for ministers, fathers do things for children, children do things for fathers, husbands do things for wives, gentlemen do things for villains, villains do things for gentlemen, China does things for Yi Di, and Yi Di does things for China. This is called heresy. As for the rule of three generations, there is no way to treat human relations. There is no way to avoid the chaos of three generations. No one who can't cure interpersonal relationships yearns for three generations to rule the world together. No one yearns for three generations of troubled times without disturbing human relations. Since the three generations, the prosperity of the Han and Tang Dynasties was not due to governance, but to chaos. Isn't the Han and Tang Dynasties very prosperous? Its prosperity also began with the monarch, father, husband, gentleman and China. His death was also due to the prosperity of ministers, sons, wives, villains and barbarians. Hey!
