Polyploid breeding and haploid breeding

Polyploid breeding can double the number of chromosome sets through low temperature induction and colchicine treatment of seeds and seedlings, and generally polyploid breeding produces plants with large fruits and improved nutrients, such as sugar and starch.

Haploid breeding is through the anther isolation culture (anther is a gamete, from the gamete development of the plant is haploid) but the haploid plant is highly sterile, so through artificial induction (you can use colchicine) to make the chromosome set doubled, the role of this is to get a fast pure seed, shorten the duration of breeding.
