Linfen is the ancient capital of Du Yao and Pingyang in the world, and one of the birthplaces of the splendid culture of the Chinese nation for 5,000 years. As a category of folk gongs and drums, Linfen has not only magnificent gongs and drums.

The long-term historical origin has a broader mass base. The earliest name of prestige gongs and drums is "gongs and drums", commonly known as "man", which is mainly distributed in Linfen city and Huozhou, Hongdong and Fushan counties. In the long development process, the majestic gongs and drums have absorbed the artistic essence of different times and gradually improved themselves. There are two main performance forms of majestic gongs and drums. One is a drum performance, and most of Pingyang is performed by drummers holding a round drum. Another form of performance is drum set, which is mainly popular in Fushan County. The formation didn't change much during the performance, so we played while walking. Due to the change of inheritance and regional differences, prestige gongs and drums have formed two factions in Hedong and Hexi. The common tracks are seven cards, ox loin, chaos, wind stirring snow, silver twisted wire and inverted curtain. Magnificent gongs and drums are an art form of percussion instruments played with four instruments: gong, drum, cymbal and cymbal. Rich in content and diverse in forms, it integrates music, dance and skills.
