For gallbladder polyps, why don't most hospitals do cholecystectomy instead of cholecystectomy?

This is a personal opinion I wrote on my blog not long ago:

My opinion on the medical controversy about "biliary stone extraction, polyp extraction": minimally invasive gallbladder biliary stone extraction, polyp extraction is the use of laparoscopy and choledochoscopy, two kinds of special endoscopic equipment to complete the retention of the gallbladder to achieve the purpose of removing the stone, polyp extraction. At present, the medical profession, whether it is gallbladder stones or gallbladder polyps, the real and exact cause is still not very clear, and there is no targeted, effective prevention, stone dissolution, elimination of polyps of drugs, these two diseases have brought a certain degree of pain to the patient, and even the eventual malignant transformation of the gallbladder cancer. Of course, the gallbladder does not exist, there is no recurrence and malignant changes, due to these reasons, "preservation of the gallbladder to remove stones, or polyps", by the medical profession generally questioned. However, the patient's desire to preserve the gallbladder has always existed, in the absence of a solution to the recurrence of stones and polyps on the premise of a small number of hospitals are currently carried out, some gallstones and gall polyps on the patient for exploratory biliary lithotripsy, polyp surgery, there is a very strict screening of the patient program, the requirements:

1, there is no history of acute seizures;

2, the gallbladder must have a good contractile

3, no history of open surgery in the upper abdomen;

4, good bile permeability in the gallbladder, smooth mucosa of the gallbladder;

5, a single stone or polyp (not more than 0.5 at the basal surface);

6, the patient must also have a failure of "bile preservation" and then remove the gallbladder! The patient must also be psychologically prepared to have the gallbladder removed again if the "biliary protection" fails!

In view of this situation I do not recommend and do not advocate this immature, still in the exploratory stage of the operation! If the psychological pressure to simply remove the gallbladder, otherwise you can observe a period of time, appropriate dietary structure, change lifestyle habits to slow down the development of stones, polyps, inflammation, anti-inflammatory treatment, pay close attention to the development of stones, polyps, once the growth of accelerated, aggravated by the symptoms of the recommended surgery for safety.

The gallbladder is not an immune organ, his main role is the reservoir of bile, with the role of concentration and regulation of bile flow, itself has no digestive function. Under normal circumstances after about three months of postoperative gradual conditioning, adaptation, step by step, digestive function will be restored to the preoperative level of 70-80%, half a year after the digestive function and the preoperative there is not much difference.

In fact, simple gallbladder stones (polyps) is a common and frequent disease, at present, whether at home or abroad, in the treatment means are very advanced, there is no need to make a very simple disease complicated.

I hope this answers your question.
