Tomsk University of Science and Technology, together with experts from China and Germany, has developed a special kind of nanowire. According to the characteristics of nanowires, nanowires can be used as special transparent electrodes in flexible electronics products and solar products. This research result is based on a new research method of nanostructure synthesis. Related research results were published in the journal Nanomaterials.

The Eurasian staff of Tomsk University of Technology said that the flexible electrode composed of nanowires is a lattice structure with a light transmittance of over 95%, which is comparable to the transparency of window glass. Compared with other electrodes made of silver nanowires, the nanowires developed this time have higher conductivity.

The researchers also explained that modern optoelectronics requires components based on such wires. Transparent electrodes must be used to improve the energy efficiency of solar cells, displays and light emitting diodes (LEDs).
