Tongshenghe's century-old store

The shop was opened in 1902 in Tianjin, China, in the twenty-eighth year of the Qing Dynasty, and specialized in hats and shoes. The name of the store came from a couplet given to the owner by the Qing Minister Tieliang: "Work together to achieve success and the official crown to wear a lot of money". After the opening of a hat-making workshop outside the North Gate of Tianjin, the store was opened in Wangfujing Street in 1932 with the name of Tongsheng and Shoes and Hats Shop. After the gradual withdrawal of the hat business to operate mainly shoe products, the implementation of public-private partnership in 1956, the establishment of a shoe factory in South Street, the formation of a professional shoe store. "During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed as Changzheng Shoes Store and Qianjin Shoes and Hats Store, and in 1983, a production building was set up in Dongbalizhuang, and advanced equipments were imported from Germany and Czechoslovakia. The "Tongniu" brand cowhide adhesive men's shallow shoes, men's adhesive bottom cowhide shoes and women's adhesive half-heeled shoes were awarded the prize of high-quality products by the Ministry of Commerce, and all the 3,000 pairs of high-level sports officials' shoes for the 11th Asian Games in 1990 were made by the Tongshenghe Shoes Factory.

In 1994, the shoe store was expanded and the business area was increased to 1500 square meters. In 1998, it resumed the service items of custom-made and hand-sewn shoes, and opened counters in more than 10 shopping malls, including Fuxing Commercial City and Xidan Shopping Center. On the occasion of entering the new millennium, the same? and made a pair of "Century Shoes" with traditional craftsmanship, 1 meter long, extra-large three joints, all using cowhide, handmade. "Although the store is not big, the black lacquered plaque with gold characters "Tongshenghe" has experienced the vicissitudes of a hundred years. In the window of the store, there is a display of custom-made shoes for Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. There is also a pair of one-meter-long, exquisitely crafted, three-jointed shoes, which were once the "shoes of the century" made by "Tongshenghe" with traditional handmade craftsmanship and became a sensation in the capital. "Tongshenghe", which means "working together, harmony and wealth", was founded in 1902. The first owner of Tongshenghe, Mr. Mo Yinxuan, was initially a workshop producing thousand-layer-soled cloth shoes and hats. At the time of opening, the Qing Dynasty Minister Tie Liang gave a couplet: "Work with one heart and work together to achieve harmony, and rise to the palace crowns wear a lot of money", cleverly integrating the three words "Tongshenghe" into the couplet. Tongsheng and the production of handmade cloth shoes with exquisite materials, excellent workmanship, novel style, on the basis of traditional craftsmanship and innovation, to meet the needs of customers from all walks of life, the dress tweed cloth shoes made by "Tongsheng and" had prevailed throughout the country.

In 1929, Tongshenghe had already developed to four stores, and in 1932, Beijing Tongshenghe Shoes Store was opened next to Dong'an Market. While continuing to expand the production and operation of cloth shoes, Li Xitao decided to produce high-grade handmade leather shoes. He imported production equipment and hired famous shoe makers, and blended the strengths of Chinese and Western shoe-making techniques in design and production. The finely crafted shoes were mainly for social celebrities and foreigners in China, and after Tongsheng and the public-private partnership in 1956, Premier Zhou instructed leaders at all levels to "support the long-established company to continue". With the help of the government, Tongsheng and adjusted the scope of business, hired a number of shoemaking technicians from all over the country, forming a truly professional shoe store in front of the store and behind the factory.

Tongshenghe continues to carry forward the fine traditions of the past in its operation, focusing on product quality and service. Tongshenghe produces hand-stitched fine leather shoes and traditional craft fine cloth shoes all using natural materials. In order to carry forward the culture of the old firm, it has also added on-site handmade leather shoes. If customers can't choose the right shoes, they can have their feet customized according to their foot shape. Over the past hundred years, Tongshenghe has been named as China's long-established enterprise and China's long-established member unit by the Ministry of Domestic Trade, and has been awarded the titles of famous trademark, Beijing's excellent featured store, window industry standard unit, civilized business demonstration store, Beijing's famous and excellent brand, price and measurement trusted unit, and the unit of honoring contract and keeping credit.
