What are the traditional Spring Festival customs in Hunan?

Hunan people have three important customs during the Spring Festival:

1, before the firecrackers court, to eliminate disasters;

On the first day of the new year, the first thing people usually do is to burn bamboo tubes on the front steps of the hall to drive away evil spirits in the mountains. Evil spirits in the mountains are monsters in the mountains in myths and legends, which are related to the legend of "Nian". It is said that Nian was originally a monster. When the Spring Festival comes, people will come out to hunt in 2008. In order to resist its invasion, people gathered together, lit bonfires, threw in bamboos, and made a crackling sound, which scared Nian to flee far away. This is the original "New Year".

2, worship in turn, drink pepper and cypress wine;

After getting up early on New Year's Day, the whole family, old and young, dressed up and worshipped their ancestors in turn to congratulate each other on their new happiness. People should worship pepper and cypress wine, drink peach soup, drink Tu Su wine and eat spiced vegetables. These mala Tang are mostly local products of Chu, and they are also a kind of diet with strong "Chu flavor".

3, Yi chicken households, ghosts in Fu Tao town.

On the first day of the first month, why are all kinds of ghosts afraid? Ying Shao's "Customs Tongyi" in the Han Dynasty said: "There were two people in ancient times, Shencha and Lei Yukun. Under a big peach tree at the foot of Dushuo Mountain, there lived two brothers, Cha and Lei. They specialize in observing all kinds of ghosts When they found ghosts who were bold and harmful to human beings, they immediately tied them up with reeds and arrested them to feed the tigers. So, on New Year's Eve, later generations cut the ribbon, hung reed ropes and painted a tiger on the door-the door god "Taofu". This is how the Spring Festival couplets evolved.
