Synopsis:
Dingjun Mountain, also known as Success in One Battle, is a traditional Peking Opera play about the war between Wei and Shu during the Three Kingdoms period, when Cao Cao sends his general Zhang He to attack the Jiameng Pass, and he is defeated by Shu Han's veteran generals Huang Zhong and Yan Yan. Zhang He fled to Dingjun Mountain and joined Xiahou Yuan, ready to **** together against the Shu army. Zhuge Liang, in order to increase Huang Zhong's confidence in winning, falsely said that Huang Zhong was too old to defeat Xiahou Yuan, and was ready to fight with someone else.
Huang Zhong was very angry at hearing this, saying that although he was old, his strength was not diminished, and he made a military order, vowing to take down Dingjun Mountain within ten days. Zhuge Liang saw the success of the agitation method, then gladly agreed to Huang Zhong to go to war. In the battle between the two armies, Xiahou Yuan captured Huang Zhong's general Chen Shi, and Huang Zhong also captured Xiahou Yuan's nephew Xiahou Shang. The two sides then agreed to exchange hostages in front of the two armies.
But when Xiahou Yuan released Chen Shi, Huang Zhong shot Xiahou Shang to death, provoking Xiahou Yuan to come out to fight. Huang Zhong then performed the Dragged Sword Trick, decapitating Xiahou Yuan and capturing Dingjun Mountain.
