Introduction of Nanpai Puppetry

The Southern School of Puppetry refers to the puppet theater in the palm of Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and is one of the major traditional Han Chinese dramas among the types of puppet theater in Fujian. It is one of the main Han traditional puppet theater types in Fujian Province. It is sung in Quan accent, which is different from the Northern School of Puppetry in Zhangzhou, which is sung in the northern tune, and is commonly known as "Puppet in Palm" and "Glove Puppet" in Southern Fujian, and its class is called "Puppet in Palm Class". There is no documented evidence of when the Minnan Puppet Theater began, but there were puppet performances in Quanzhou in the Five Dynasties at the latest, and from the middle of the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was the flourishing period of the Minnan Puppet Theater, which was renamed the Palm Puppet Theater in 1951. Its distribution area is Jinjiang City, Fujian Province and the surrounding areas of Quanzhou, Shishi, Nan'an, Anxi, Dehua, Yongchun, Hui'an and Tong'an in Xiamen, Zhangpu in Zhangzhou and other places. The famous class of the Southern School of Bubu Opera is the "Jin Yongcheng" class of Li's family name in Pan Path, Anhai Town, Jinjiang. The famous artists Li Kecha, Li Rongzong and Li Bofen are from this class.
