Gaotao is a character of what era
Gao Tao, the descendant of the fiefdom of Lu'an in present-day Anhui Province, is a figure in ancient Han legends. Gaotao was one of the "Four Saints of the Ancient World", along with Yao, Shun and Yu, and was regarded as the originator of Chinese justice, and was later often used as a substitute for prison officer or prison god.
Gao Tao was a wise official who, according to legend, was born during the reign of Emperor Yao, and was once appointed by Shun as a "magistrate" in charge of criminal law, and was known for his integrity.
The main achievements of Gaotao include the formulation of criminal law and education, and helping Yao, Shun and Yu to implement the "Five Punishments" and "Five Teachings". The unicorn Xiezhi was used to rule the prisons, insisting on justice; the punishment and education, requiring the father to be righteous, the mother to be kind, the brother to be friendly, the brother to be respectful, and the son to be filial piety, so as to make the society harmonious, and the world was greatly ruled.
