Why is Sanliao Village "the first village of geomantic omen"?

The hometown of Yang Junsong, a famous geomantic master, is located in Sanliao Village, Xingguo County, Jiangxi Province, and is known as "the birthplace of geomantic culture" and "the first geomantic village in China". According to legend, after Yang Junsong fled to Jiangxi in the Tang Dynasty, he found this inaccessible place with good feng shui. The land here is fertile, the terrain is a basin, with a long stone peak in the middle, tall pine trees at the edge of the basin, and round boulders under the trees. Yang Junsong thinks that the whole basin is like a huge compass, the stone peak in the middle is like a pointer, and pine trees and boulders are like Mr. Feng Shui's umbrella and bag. This kind of terrain is naturally very suitable for Mr. Feng Shui to live in for generations. So, he and his disciples Zeng Wenyou and Liao Li each built a hut, forming the earliest Sanliao village. Since then, Zeng and Liao have lived here and developed into a large village with a population of 4,600. There are many talented people and great masters. According to statistics, there are about 24 Buddhist teachers and 72 Ming teachers in Sanliao village, among whom 36 were named doctors of Qin by the emperor. They built the Ming Tombs, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Great Wall and other military fortresses.

The history of Sanliao geomantic culture originated from Yang Junsong, the doctor of Guanglu who was in charge of Qionglin Treasury at the end of Tang Dynasty, who left his job to live in seclusion in Ganxian, Xingguo, Du Yu and Ningdu in order to avoid the Huang Chao Rebellion.

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, in order to escape the war, the first stop of Hakka ancestors' southward migration was Ganzhou, and they poured into various parts of southern Jiangxi surrounded by mountains to open up wasteland and settle down. Yang Junsong's geomantic omen serves people to expand their territory and rebuild their homes. Yang Junsong's historical contribution is that he first introduced the royal geomantic omen to the public. Hakka ancestors' thirst for geomantic omen not only created practical opportunities for Yang Junsong to summarize geomantic omen, but also brought convenience for him to collect disciples to write books.

Yang Junsong and his disciple Zeng Wenkun left behind dozens of imperial masterpieces, such as Doubtful Dragon Sutra, Shake the Dragon Sutra, Burial Method, Heavenly Jade Sutra, Qingnangaoyu, Zushi Song, etc., systematically expounded the theoretical system and specific operation methods of China's geomantic culture, and formed geomantic omen that influenced China 1000 years. This also established Yang Junsong's position as a master in the history of geomantic culture in China.

The geomantic culture of Sanliao is unique in the whole country and has become a school that affects the whole country, which is closely related to the fact that the geomantic master of Sanliao Village was the first in the activities of recruiting geomantic magicians by Judy and Sejong in the Ming Dynasty. Politicians from Liao Dynasty were invited to Beijing to choose the mausoleum for Yongle Emperor, that is, the Ming Tombs today. He went to Beijing from politics twice to provide geomantic service for the expansion of the Palace (now the Forbidden City). According to historical records, dozens of people in Sanliao became royal feng shui masters in history. Through their influence as "national teachers", they spread Sanliao Feng Shui at home and abroad.
