The production process of brake pads in brake pad production equipment is as follows: the production process of friction materials is mainly divided into two stages: formula screening and batch production. After receiving the order and defining the product performance requirements, we should first select the applicable formula, adjust the existing formula or develop a new formula. After the test proves that it can meet the requirements of users, it will be put into mass production. The main links in the production process of friction materials include:

1. Material inspection: inspect the raw materials used and adjust the proportion in the formula according to their physical and chemical indexes.

2. Ingredients: measure the raw materials according to the proportion determined by the formula. At present, there are two commonly used methods: manual metering and automatic metering of computer automatic batching system, the latter is advanced and reliable.

3. Mixing: Mix the prepared raw materials. Mixing can be divided into wet mixing and semi-dry mixing. Commonly used mixers include three-axis screw, two-axis screw and plough, among which plough is more commonly used.

4. Press forming: it is divided into one-step forming method and two-step forming method. One-step molding method is to put the material into the mold for direct hot pressing molding; The two-step method is to prepress raw materials into blanks, and then put them into hot-pressing molds for hot-pressing and shaping.

5. Heat treatment: In order to save hot pressing time and improve the working efficiency of hot press, the chemical action of resin and other components in friction materials after hot pressing is not completely sufficient, and the heat treatment process should be further completed at a certain temperature. The commonly used equipment is a programmable heat treatment box.

6. Shape processing: finish the appearance of the product, such as grinding the surface, chamfering, painting, installing accessories, printing trademarks and packaging.

It is generally believed that the friction and wear characteristics of friction materials obtained by the above process have been determined, and subsequent processing can change the appearance, but not the performance. However, a process called "surface ablation treatment" is helpful to stabilize the initial properties of friction materials. The so-called ablation treatment is to bake the surface of friction material at 600-700℃ before leaving the factory, so that several things on the surface can be quickly dispersed and gasified to prevent thermal recession and the generation of air cushion in the early stage of braking. In general, the ablation surface depth is 1-2mm.
