What is "The King of Chess"?

"King of Chess" is a national original TV series cartoon produced by Hongying World.

"King of Chess" depicts the journey of a Primary Six student named "No Regrets" (meaning "no regrets in playing chess", indicating a chess player's belief in going forward without regrets) from not knowing how to play chess at all to loving the game of chess. With a never-say-die heart, he works hard and moves forward, learning and overcoming obstacles to deepen his skill in chess, and defeating his opponents in various chess tournaments. He overcomes all the difficulties and deepens his chess skills, defeats his opponents in various chess competitions, and struggles courageously to realize his ideal of "King of Chess". It is a story of courage, perseverance and youthfulness.

a). Gaming Box

In our story, the Chinese chess board is no longer the traditional chess board, but a new high-tech product - Gaming Box.

The player carries it on his wrist and controls all the pieces on the virtual board through it.

The Gaming Box is the only tool a player has to communicate with the virtual world.

b). Pieces Projected Characters

Pieces in the story will be materialized into specific virtual characters. We designed different characters for each chess piece's characteristics. We were inspired by the Chinese characters on the chess pieces. We conceptualized the animal characters based on the literal meaning and the characteristics of the pieces. This way we were able to preserve the meaning of the pieces themselves.

These virtual characters will fight in a virtual world. Every move they make is subject to their corresponding chess piece. When a suitable tactic is used to encircle a piece, the corresponding character cannot move either. When the corresponding piece is "eaten" by the opponent, the character itself dies.

Synopsis

There are three months left before the "Little Chess Champion Cup" chess competition in Changhai City, and in order to win the competition, all schools have been selecting participants; in the Oriental Elementary School, where the masters are all gathered, the players' hearts are burning to the highest point of battle.

But Wuxue had no interest in the traditional game, always sitting in the corner of the classroom. One day, Lai Zhang, a fifth-grader, challenged him to a game of Xiangqi, which inspired Wuxue to fight, and he was determined to get better at Xiangqi. After that, Wuxue accidentally meets the chess legend Ouyang Shuping and learns from him, so he goes to Ouyang Shuping's house every day after school to practice.

After a lot of hard work, Wuxie defeats many opponents, and finally enters the school's audition, but for some reason he is only selected as a reserve player.

The Dongfang Elementary School team participated in the Changhai City Elementary Chess Champion Cup, with Dazhu, Xiaoshan, Lai Zhang, and No Regrets as the back-up. After a hard fought battle, No Regret replaced Dazhu in the third game as Dazhu was unable to play due to abdominal pain. No Regret's opponent was Xiao Che, and the match between No Regret and Xiao Che caught the attention of Feng Ping, a player from the Northern Primary School team. No Regret, thanks to the teachings of Ouyang Shuping, grew greatly in this one and won against his opponent, Xiao Che, and the Eastern Elementary School team advanced to the finals.

The Oriental Elementary School team faced the powerful Northern Elementary School team in the finals of the Changhai City Chess Competition. The first game of the duel began with Xiao Shan's defeat, and the Oriental Elementary School team failed in the first game. The team must win the second game, so they put Dazhu in the battle. Dazhu lived up to his name and won, with a record of one win and one loss. In the third set, No Regret and Feng Ping face off, but with his father, Feng Yuan, watching the game, Feng Ping, who is nervous, loses to No Regret in a great situation. The National Championship is a 5-player team competition, so it was necessary to select the best players from the entire Changhai City region to form a new Changhai City Selection Team, rather than just the Eastern Elementary School team, which had won the regional tournament in Changhai City. The selected players were No Regret, Feng Ping, Lai Zhang, Dazhu and Xiao Shan, with alternates Xiao Che and Dou Dou. The finals of the National Chess Competition kicked off with the best of the best. In this one, the North District team is playing against the Changhai City team. The third player of the Changhai City team is Lai Zhang, who is playing against Junior C. Lai Zhang, who has been training desperately to gain Doudou's favor, is going to avenge Doudou's loss and fight against the enemy. For the sake of Ma Tian's victory, Ma Yiguang, who has been following any strategy up until now, orders his opponent, Junior C, to use his favorite strategy to fight freely against the enemy. This is the first time Ma Yiguang has disobeyed his father, Ma Tian.

The Raikage, who finally won against Junior C, is the only one who has won. Changhai City selection team, one win and two losses.

However, Ma Yiguang made an irreversible mistake, and Wuxie's move "No Regret Chess Path" killed his opponent.

The Changhai City team won. The winning team, Wuxie, extends his hand of praise to his opponent, Ma Yiguang, who also apologizes to Wuxie and Feng Ping for what his father had done. Wuxie said that people who like chess are good friends and asked for a handshake, so the group clasped hands.

Then Mr. You Yi told them that they had been selected to join the Chinese team at the same time. The group was ecstatic that their future opponents would be the chess players of the world!

Characters

Nie Wuxie: The protagonist is 12 years old, skinny, and has messy hair (because the barber at the end of the alley often cuts it off at the feet). Usually likes to tilt his head to think and daze. He is in the second class of the sixth year of the Oriental Primary School, and has no special hobbies except for eating donuts. She has no friends at school except for her classmate Dazhu and her neighbor Xiao Shan. Since she got into chess, she often has nightmares about ancient Chinese wars. Although she has no special skill, she is attracted to Xiao Shan by her concentration and bravery during the game. She has a bit of a crush on Doudou, who is in the same grade.

Dazhu: Male, 12 years old, in the second class of the sixth year at Dongfang Elementary School, he is in the same class as Wuxie. He is a good partner of No Regret in school. He always carries an electronic watch on his right hand, is a bit chubby, likes to eat snacks, and often takes some newly released snacks to school to eat. Ma Tian: President of the Shen City Chess Association and a first-class referee. He is a high-ranking chess player.
