Brief introduction of Xinyang folk songs

Xinyang folk songs are Han folk music in Xinyang. Xinyang is the hometown of singing and dancing in Henan Province, which is rich in traditional culture such as Han folk music and dance, and its style is quite different from that in Huaibei area of Henan Province. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, there was a great change, that is, some new music and dance elements were added to the original Han folk music and dance, forming the so-called new folk songs and Xinmin dances; After the founding of New China, the original folk songs and dances have changed in the process of being preserved and protected after two "literary collections" from 65438 to 0978, and the pure original ecological Han music and dance is even more rare. But based on the original folk music and dance materials, a number of music and dance programs were created. On June 7th, 2008, Xinyang folk songs were approved by the State Council to be included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
