The Historical Origin of Laizhou Noodle Sculpture
The earliest origin of Yantai Laizhou noodle molding is the sacrificial activities of the ancient Han people. Ancient people revered the gods and goddesses, and they made offerings of their ancestors as gods in the form of face molds, and went to Yantai Donglai Mountain every year to worship the gods and goddesses. According to the Records of the Grand Historian, Qin Shi Huang came to Yantai Zhifu Island three times in history to worship the gods. Sacrificial offerings with wheat flour made of cows, sheep, pigs, etc., the first Yantai face sculpture of the first; then, the Yantai folk are also more imitation of cows, sheep, pigs and other animals face sculpture to ancestors; later face sculpture is applied to different occasions, and gradually evolved into a Han Chinese folk customs.
