The introduction of the bow and arrow making skill of Juyuan number

The Juyuan bow and arrow making skill is one of the traditional handicraft skills in China. The bow and arrow making skill of Juyuan has inherited the fine tradition of Chinese double curved recurve composite bow, and the main body of the bow is made of bamboo, with cow horns on the outside, cow tendons on the inside, and wooden bow shawls on the both ends. The production of the bow is divided into two parts: the "white work" of the bow and the "painting work" of the decoration. There are two kinds of bow strings: cowhide and cotton, and Jiuyuan mostly uses cotton. Arrow-making steps mainly include adjusting the shaft, playing leather 1, scraping the shaft, installing arrows and tail feathers, etc. On May 20, 2006, the bow and arrow making skills of Juyuan were approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
