What is epidemic surveillance

The concept of surveillance

Surveillance refers to the occurrence, prevalence, distribution and related factors of a certain epidemic disease for a long period of time to carry out systematic observation and detection, in order to grasp the occurrence of the epidemic disease and development trend.

Methods of surveillance

include epidemiologic investigation, clinical symptom examination, serologic testing, pathogenicity testing.

Methods of monitoring

Includes routine monitoring, monitoring during the epidemic period (refers to the monitoring of the epidemic point, infected area and threatened area), monitoring of immunization effect, and disease-free monitoring after lifting the blockade.
