How to split screen for tablet apps?

Use Smart Multi-Window and turn on split screen to use multiple apps at the same time.

Take Huawei MatePad 11 as an example:

1. To open split screen:

(1) After opening an app, on the left or right side of the tablet screen, slide the screen from outside to inside and pause to bring up the Wisdom Multi-Window app bar.

(2) Long press and drag the app icon in the app bar to the screen to enable split screen.

2. Split Screen Swap:

Long press the horizontal bar at the top of the split screen window until the split screen window shrinks, then drag and drop the window to another split screen window.

3. Exit Split Screen:

Press and hold the short horizontal or vertical bar on the split screen median and drag it until the other window disappears.

Warm reminder: some apps do not support split-screen display.

4. Drag and Drop between Split Screen Apps

After you open a Split Screen app, you can directly drag and drop images, text, or documents between apps.

Drag and drop images: For example, when editing a memo, open File Manager and select an image at the same time, you can drag and drop it to the memo editing page.

Drag and drop text: For example, when sending a message, open the memo at the same time and long-press and select the desired text, then long-press again to drag and drop it into WeChat.

Drag and drop document: For example, when editing an email, open File Manager at the same time and select a document, you can drag and drop it to the email.

Warm reminder: Some apps do not support inter-app drag and drop.

5. Open multiple windows of a single app

You can open multiple task windows of a single app (e.g., Mail, Memo) and drag and drop images, text, or documents across multiple task windows.

Warm reminder: Some applications do not support this feature.

6. Split screen to open multi-task windows of a single app

(1) Open a task window of Mail app.

(2) On the left or right side of the tablet screen, swipe the screen from outside to inside and pause to bring up the Smart Multi-Window app bar.

(3) Long-press and drag the Mail app icon in the app bar to the screen to open the multitasking window of the Mail app in a split screen.

7. Quickly drag and drop between multitasking windows of a single app

Drag and drop images: Select an image from one mail task window and drag it to another mail task window.

Drag and drop text: Long press and select text from one task window, then long press again to drag and drop it to another task window.

Drag and drop document: Select a document from one task window and drag and drop it to another task window.
