March Street is a legal festival for people of all ethnic groups in Dali. It is held outside the west gate of the ancient city of Dali from March 15th every year for seven to ten days.
Historical origin
March Street, also known as Guanyin City, is said that Guanyin went to Dali to give a lecture on March 15 when Fine slaves ROM was in Nanzhao, so at that time every year, good men and women would set up tents to worship and recite scriptures. March Street became a temple fair for Buddhist scriptures. Because Dali is located in the traffic artery, there are many Buddhists in ancient Yunnan. With the development of social economy, temple fairs have gradually evolved into local fairs and festivals in western Yunnan.
March Street is a traditional festival of Bai people, which is held every year at the foot of Zhonghe Peak in Dali County and on the open space beside the Xi Zhong River. During the "March Street", businessmen from thousands of miles away and neighboring counties came from all directions to participate in the transaction.
