What is the service industry?
The service industry is what we usually call the tertiary industry. According to the World Trade Organization's General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), trade in services is divided into 12 categories: commercial services (including professional services such as legal, engineering design, urban planning, public **** relations, and services in computers, research and development, real estate, business leasing, etc.); telecommunication services; construction services; sales (distribution) services; educational services; environmental services; financial services; health and social services ; tourism and related services; cultural, recreational and sports services; transportation services; and other services.
