How is Japanese punctuation different from Chinese?
The difference is the comma, which is , in Chinese, and , in Japanese (the tonal sign in Chinese).
Meanwhile in traditional Japanese writing, there is no question mark (?) , and there is no exclamation point.
1. The period - "." (period, maru)
Usage is labeled at the end of a sentence. Half of a sentence (the second half is omitted) in conversational texts is also marked with a period. e.g.

Note: Sentences in conversational texts that are in quotation marks are usually not marked by the final period. For example:
"私ですよ。 Yutaka san, 私です"
2、Comma-" 、" or "," (読点、点或コンマ)
Vertical writing is written as. "," (読点、点) when written vertically; "," (コンマ) when written horizontally; but some people write ",".
Usage 1 When joining two related sentences, it is labeled after the word that follows. When the successor is in the middle of a sentence, a comma is marked before and after the successor.
Use case
So it is privately interested in the history of Japan.
This boot is a husband's, and the value is a safe one.
Usage 2When joining two sentences with the conjunctive midton method, a comma follows the conjunctive midton. For example:
Private sister is now 17 years old and lives in a dormitory at the university.
Kuni's parents wrote on handwritten paper and Tomodachi made a phone call.
Usage 3When a sentence is complicated by phrases indicating inverse connection, cause, reason, condition, time, etc., a comma must follow the said stanza in order to facilitate the understanding of the construction of the sentence.
Use case
Takushiyo ga nakahata no de, home ma de 歩いて帰った。
もし事故が発生した场合、このレバーを引いて列车を止めてください。
Usage 4 To clearly indicate a phrase or section of a sentence, it must be followed by a comma.
Usage examples
Ko no 薬を、夜寝る前に一度、朝起きてからもう一度、饮んでください。
Privately, I am a bird that flies in the air, and I am free to be born and walk in the air and think about it.
Usage 5 In order to clearly show the relationship between words, a comma is required. Different positions of the mark sometimes change the meaning of the sentence.
Usage examples
Someone who has a big sound is にびっくりして、横から飞び出した子供にぶつかった。

3, single quotation marks - " " " (かぎかっこ, かぎ)
Use Usage Used to indicate the part of the quote or the words that require special attention.
Use case
"そうですか, 子供連れじゃいけないんですか"
Tanakaさんは "雨が降らないうちに帰りましょう "と言った。
4, double quotes - " " " (二重かぎかっこ、二重かぎ)
用法1Used to denote the title of a book or the title of a newspaper or magazine. e.g.
Use case
Yesterday, "Japanese Life" and this book were read.
Note: If a quotation is followed by the grammatical auxiliary "と", it is sometimes quoted without quotation marks.
Example: 入り口に休業とかいた纸がはってある。
Usage 2Parts that need to be in quotation marks within single quotation marks are in double quotation marks. e.g.
"Japanese conversations are characterized by a large number of people who say "hai" and "いいえ".
5. Dash - "-" (ダッシュ)
Usage When inserting a description of a word or inserting another way of saying a word in a sentence, use a dash to indicate the part of the insertion.
Use case
Amerika's small school is シュー? アンド? テル(show and tell )-objects を見せて、それに
ついて说明する授业-がよくいわれる。
6, ellipsis - "......" (dotted line, twofold リーダー)
Usage indicates omission or being in a state of thought or speechlessness. E.g.
Usage Example
He said "Rain is falling on ......" and was in a state of thought and speechlessness.
7, center point - "?" (なか点、なかぐろ)
Usage 1 is used to indicate juxtaposition of body language.
Use case This article is a preface? Thesis? The three parts of the conclusion are divided into three parts.
Usage 2 is used to separate two words forming an exonym, a Western first and last name.
Usage examples
Tanaka wa self-split na? クリームを洗面所からとってきて、茂造の指先にこすにつけた。
Usage 3 indicates the decimal point of a number when written vertically.
Usage 4 indicates the abbreviated form of a date or moment.
8、Question mark - "?" (クェスチョンマーク)
Usage Used at the end of a sentence to indicate a question, questioning, interrogation, and rhetorical question.
Usage example "そこはきれいな所?"
Note: In ordinary writing, question marks are basically not used in principle, but are replaced by periods.
Example: Tokyo's map is kirei desu ka.
Also, when a question mark is used in the middle of a sentence, it is followed by a space. For example:
"ええ? なんですか"
「ええ? abort する?"
9, exclamation point - "!"
Usage Used at the end of a sentence to express exclamation, emphasis, warning, and so on.
Usage example "Jun! Car, danger!"
Note: Like the question mark, the exclamation point is basically not used in ordinary writing, but is replaced by a period. When an exclamation point is used in the middle of a sentence, it should be followed by a space.
10. Spacer, center dot - "-" (中黒)
用法1 Used in the list of body language.
Use case spring-summer-autumn-winter
Use 2 Used to separate foreign words as well as names of places and people.
Use case micro-computer マイクロ? コンピューター
George Washington ジョージ? ワシントン
Use Case 3 is used to abbreviate dates, moments, names, etc.
Usage 4 Used to denote cognates.
