How to practice the basic skills of brush calligraphy

The methods of practicing the basic skills of Chinese calligraphy are eye training, brain training and hand training.

1, eye practice

Practicing eyes means reading posts carefully. Reading posts is not only a means of learning calligraphy, but also a kind of ability training. The more posts you read, the faster your eyesight will improve, and you will know how to write well. You can't practice calligraphy well because you find beauty and can't express it with your hands. Beauty has become an illusion.

Step 2 practice your brain

Confucius said, "Learning without thinking is useless, and learning without thinking is dangerous". When practicing calligraphy, we should observe deeply, carefully analyze the brushwork and techniques of the ancients, and deeply engrave the well-written model figures in our minds. Whenever the word is mentioned, we immediately think of the shape of the word on the copybook. You should have a copybook in your mind, a well-thought-out plan, and it should be done overnight.

Step 3 practice your hands

When practicing calligraphy, you must combine your heart and hands, and you must be consistent with your heart and hands. At the same time, practicing hands also improves vision and brain power, and also exercises the strength and power of the wrist. Practicing touch is to let the brain command the flexibility and expressiveness of the hand. When you feel the pen, it becomes a part of your hand. You can use it freely and write the effect you want to express.

Precautions for using brushes:

1. Wash the brush with water every time you use it. If you don't take any measures for the brush, you will find that the ink on the brush is dry and hard the next day, so it is very difficult to clean it again, which will cause damage to the brush.

2. When writing with a brush, if you don't write for a short time, you can temporarily put on a pen cap for fear that the bristles will be blown dry by the wind. But when you don't write for a long time, you should rinse the brush and air dry naturally, and don't wear a cap, because the bristles of the brush can't always be wet, which is very harmful to the brush.

3. After using the brush every time, be sure to rinse the hair of the brush. Although it can't be completely washed off, at least there can't be too much residual ink. Generally, the cleaner the better.
