Xiangdong Township is located in the southeast mountain stream basin of Wuping County, with an average elevation of 469 meters. It is the highest township (town) in the county. It is adjacent to Jiaoling, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province in the south and Shanghang in the east, only12km away from National Highway 205. It is connected with Zhongdu Town, Shanghang County, Fujian Province and Beituo Town, Jiaoling County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province by highway. The township covers an area of 135.25 square kilometers and governs 1 1 administrative villages and 97 villagers' groups. By the end of 2000, there were 3,790 households with a total population of 65,438+06073. At the end of 2000, there were 22,265,438 mu of cultivated land and 0/38 mu of woodland/kloc. Xiangdong Township is an old revolutionary base area.
