Introduction to Traditional Sports Meetings for Ethnic Minorities

The Traditional Sports Meet of Ethnic Minorities generally refers to the National Traditional Sports Meet of Ethnic Minorities of the People's Republic of China*** and the State. It was developed on the basis of the National Ethnic Forms Sports Performance and Competition Conference held in 1953. It is jointly organized by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the State Sports Administration and hosted locally, and is held once every four years. The event has become one of the more influential large-scale comprehensive sporting events in the country with its national, extensive and amateur characteristics.
