Article 143 The production and sale of food that does not meet safety standards The production and sale of food that does not meet food safety standards is sufficient to cause serious food poisoning or other serious foodborne illnesses, shall be sentenced to less than three years of fixed-term imprisonment or detention, and shall be punished by a fine; serious harm to human health or other serious circumstances, shall be sentenced to more than three years of fixed-term imprisonment and shall be punished by a fine; the consequences are particularly serious, shall be sentenced to more than seven years of fixed-term imprisonment or detention, and shall be punished by a fine. Punishment; causing death or other particularly serious circumstances, shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of Article 141 of this Law.
