Sichuan Province is located in the southwest of China, with an area of 537,000 square kilometers and a population of 94.5 million.

Sichuan basin is in the east, surrounded by high mountains, with plain at the bottom and hills and low hills in the rest. The western region is the western Sichuan Plateau, the northern region is a part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the southern region is the northern section of the Hengduan Mountains.

Most rivers belong to the Yangtze River system. Jinsha River runs from southwest to northeast through southern Sichuan to Yibin, and then becomes the name of the Yangtze River. Jialing River, Minjiang River, Tuojiang River and Wujiang River flow into the Yangtze River from the north and south sides. Sichuan basin and western Sichuan have subtropical humid climate and subtropical plateau climate respectively. The main mineral deposits are iron, coal, natural gas, petroleum, well salt, asbestos, vanadium, titanium and phosphorus. It is rich in agriculture and water resources.

Sichuan's main industrial products are metals, coal, petroleum, machinery, electricity, chemicals, electronics, textiles, food and so on. Among them, the output and output value of natural gas, salt, canned food, beverage, steel, paper, fertilizer, alloy, motorcycle and power generation equipment are among the highest in China. Rice, wheat, cotton, rapeseed and raw silk are its main agricultural products. Sichuan is one of the main producing areas of rice, wheat, oil crops, meat and fruits in China, and it is also an important producing area of tung oil, medicinal materials, pigs and cattle.

Railway plays an important role in Sichuan's transportation, and there are also convenient roads and inland rivers.

Sichuan has beautiful mountains and clear waters and rich historical and cultural resources. Its main places of interest include Mount Emei, Huangling, Jiuzhaigou and Jinfo Mountain.
