What are the classification types of printing presses?

A printing machine refers to a machine that prints words and images. Modern printing machines are generally composed of plate loading, inking, stamping and paper feeding (including folding). Modern printing machine technology began in Germany. 1439, a wooden relief printing machine was manufactured in Gutenberg, Germany. Although this vertical spiral manual printing machine has a simple mechanism, it has been used for 300 years.

There are many kinds of printing machines. In order to master and understand the main performance and technical parameters of various machines, the commonly used classification methods are summarized as follows:

1, depending on the type of ordinary printing plate.

Can be divided into: relief printing machine, lithographic printing machine, gravure printing machine, L-type printing machine.

2, according to the purpose of printing points

It can be divided into: book and newspaper printing machine, packaging and decoration printing machine, bill and voucher printing machine, commercial advertising printing machine and special printing machine.

3, according to the printing surface points

Can be divided into: single-sided printing machine, double-sided printing brush machine.

4, according to the printing color points

Can be divided into: monochrome printers, two-color printers, multi-color printers.

5, according to the print format.

It can be divided into: full sheet (double full sheet) printing machine, folio printing machine, quarto printing machine and octavo printing machine.

6, according to the substrate form.

Can be divided into: sheet-fed printing machine, web printing machine.

7, according to the printing process program points

Can be divided into: direct printing machine, indirect printing machine.

8. Types of printing equipment

It can be divided into: flat pressure, circular pressure and circular pressure.

(1) Flat-press Flat-press printing machine refers to a printing machine in which the stamping mechanism and the plate-mounting mechanism are both flat.

Disadvantages: long stamping time, large total working pressure, small printing format, slow printing speed and poor printing quality.

The plate loading mechanism and the stamping mechanism of the flat press are all on the same plane. In printing, it is generally used as a relief printing machine because of the need for full contact between two planes, large printing pressure and slow printing speed.

(2) Rotary press refers to a press with a cylindrical impression mechanism and a flat plate mounting mechanism.

Advantages: Compared with flat pressing, the total working pressure is smaller, the printing format is larger, the printing speed is faster and the printing quality is better.

The plate loading mechanism of circular flattening machine is a plane, while the stamping mechanism is a cylinder. Because the printing plate and the stamping mechanism are in line contact, the printing speed is faster and the printing pressure is lower than that of the rotary flat press. The mechanical proofing machine in offset printing also belongs to this kind of printing machine.

(3) Rotary printing machine refers to a printing machine in which both the stamping mechanism and the plate loading mechanism are cylindrical.

Advantages: The printing device is simple in structure, convenient to operate, easy to combine into a double-sided printer or a multi-sided printer, and has good printing quality.

The plate loading mechanism of rotary printing machine is a cylinder, and the stamping mechanism is also a cylinder. Because the printing plate and the stamping mechanism are in line contact, the printing speed is the fastest and the total printing pressure is the smallest. This kind of printing machine is the mainstream of modern printing machines.
