Yao culture;
Yao belief belongs to polytheism. In the past, Yao people believed in animism and worshipped nature devoutly. They worship village gods, family gods, water gods, wind gods, rain gods, Raytheon, tree gods and mountain gods. They burn incense every new year. In every production process, such as hunting, cutting mountains, gathering, farming, sowing, transplanting, harvesting, building warehouses, eating new rice and so on. We should ask stone men to pray for auspicious days and hold sacrifices.
Pan Yao and Shanziyao are mainly planted in mountainous areas. They believe that the mountain is under the control of the mountain god, and it is necessary to worship the mountain god to get a bumper harvest. Therefore, when hunting wild animals that destroy crops, such as wild boar, goat, yellow feather, etc., the owner or Taoist priest should first pray for mountain gods to protect them from being hunted. After they get their prey, they must sacrifice their heads to the mountain gods before they can distribute them.
