Wangdian characteristic agriculture

Wangdian Town, Jiaxing City is located in the south of Xiuzhou District and is rich in land resources. There are many mulberry gardens, orchards, gardens (referred to as three gardens) and miscellaneous places in the territory. The local countryside has always had the habit of raising chickens. Wangdian chicken is bright red, muscular and delicious, and has always been welcomed by the market. According to the Records of Wangdian Town, in the early years of the Republic of China, the name of Wangdian chicken was Magpie Shanghai.

Since 2000, the local area has begun to develop stocking on a large scale by using rich land resources and geographical advantages. Due to the decentralized feeding mode, many problems such as technology, brand, information and product sales have been brought, which has affected the healthy development of chicken industry. Farmers are eager to have an organization to help solve some practical problems in feeding. From June, 5438 to October, 2003, on the basis of the original town chicken association, a joint-stock professional cooperative composed of town animal husbandry and veterinary technicians and large farmers-Wangdian Sanyuan Chicken Professional Cooperative in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City was registered and established. Cooperatives are led by cooperatives and based on members, with an annual output of 700,000 Wangdian brand chickens. Wangdian Sanyuanji Professional Cooperative covers an area of15mu, production room1590m2, and brooding center. It has a core demonstration breeding area covering an area of125mu and three demonstration breeding bases covering an area of180mu.

Since the establishment of the cooperative, while standardizing its own management and improving its operating mechanism, it has made every effort to provide prenatal, mid-term and postpartum services for the development of "Wangdian" Sanyuan Chicken. In 2004, it was awarded as "Model Farmer Cooperative" in Jiaxing City and "Model Professional Cooperative" in Xiuzhou District, which reassured consumers.
