What is the animation production process?

A complete cartoon can be roughly summarized into five steps: copywriting script, art setting, original painting splitting, animation making and dubbing editing.

First, write a copywriting script.

The script of cartoons is very different from that of TV and movies. In the comic script, try to avoid complicated dialogue, and mainly tell stories with picture movements. The best animation is to win through funny actions. The director drew a cartoon-like sketch according to the script and showed the actions described in the script.

Second, the artistic setting

Set the main character shape, picture tone, picture style, etc. Vector graphics generally use AI, and hand-drawn styles use PS. Under normal circumstances, according to the copywriting script, all the characters appearing in the short film will be drawn first, and then one or two pages will be drawn to determine the tone and so on. Art setting is a very important process, usually completed by the person in charge of the design team. After the art setting was completed, we began to draw the original paintings in large quantities according to the script.

Animation shot design is an important link to embody the style of animation narrative language, construct story logic and control rhythm. Animation lens design is actually the director's careful thinking about the understanding and performance of an animation; It is also the director's blueprint for the overall design and construction of the film.

The creation of cartoons is different from movies. It is carried out in the mode of post-pre-production, that is, there is no film ratio (different degrees of film ratio are allowed in the shooting of movies or TV series), and the creation process of sub-shots is actually the pre-editing of an animation.

4. Animation production

After all the shots are drawn, we need to "move" these pictures. The main software used is AE. If the splitting of the original painting is a work of "moving bricks", then animation is a work of "stacking bricks, lifting cement and sticking tiles", and animation production is a group activity that needs close cooperation.

Animation production is divided into two-dimensional animation production, three-dimensional animation production and freeze-frame animation production. For example, flash animation popular on web pages is not pure two-dimensional animation. Two-dimensional animation and three-dimensional animation are widely used animation forms in the world today.

5. Dubbing clips

Both cartoons and movies need editing, but editing is relatively simple. We should combine the shots one by one in order, delete the useless parts appropriately, and edit the combination method at the joint of each shot. Finally, find a suitable voice actor, align the picture with the sound, and then output the film to initially complete the production of an animation.
