This bungalow is at least 6000 years old.

Because Banpo site, located on the east bank of Chanhe River in the eastern suburb of Xi, Shaanxi Province, is a typical village site of primitive matriarchal clan commune in the Yellow River basin, belonging to Yangshao culture in Neolithic age, about 6000 years ago. It was discovered in 1952 and excavated in 1954- 1957, covering an area of about 50,000 square meters, and 45 houses have been excavated, which can be divided into circular, square semi-crypt type and ground frame wood structure. Accordingly, the semi-sloping house should be the earliest record of human living in a bungalow. There is a threshold filled with mud between the door of each house and the living room. There is a circular or ladle-shaped pit in the center of the house, and there are 1 ~ 6 column holes around it. Living surfaces and walls are coated with grass mixed with soil and baked with fire to make them strong and moisture-proof. Round houses are generally 4 ~ 6 meters in diameter, and the walls are made of dense columns with fences and grass mixed with soil. Small area of square or rectangular houses12 ~ 20m2, medium-sized houses (30 ~ 40m2), and maximum restoration area160m2.
