Usage of sphygmomanometer Introduction to the usage of sphygmomanometer

1, before measuring blood pressure, subjects should sit still for 15 minutes and keep calm, so that the measured value is the most accurate. If you want to determine whether you have high blood pressure, you have to take measurements at the same time for three consecutive days, and the results will be of diagnostic significance.

2, sphygmomanometer should be placed on a horizontal table, tilt will affect the accuracy. The arm to be measured should be basically in a horizontal line with the sphygmomanometer and the heart.

3. When tying the cuff, it is necessary to find out the position of the brachial artery. The lower edge of the cuff is two fingers away from the point with the strongest pulsation, and the elasticity of the cuff is enough to extend into the two fingers.

4. When measuring blood pressure, the listening piece of the stethoscope should not be stuck in the cuff, but should be exposed and placed directly on the beating point of the brachial artery, so that the measured blood pressure value is more accurate, otherwise it will be high.

5. If you can't hear clearly for the first time, you can wait until the gas in the cuff is exhausted, but you can't measure it three times or more continuously. Before the measurement, you must let the subjects have a rest.

6. After the blood pressure measurement is completed, if it is a sphygmomanometer with a mercury switch, tilt it at an angle of 45 to the right to let the mercury flow back into the tank, then turn off the switch and cover it. If there is no need for mercury backflow, just close it directly.
