Iii. employment situation 1. Employment direction: In the past five years, the initial employment rate of horticultural graduates has remained at around 90%, and most students (40-50%) have been admitted to graduate schools and entered other universities for further study. The rest of the students were admitted to civil servants or engaged in horticultural agricultural technology promotion. 2. Employment prospects: China is a big agricultural country, and the horticultural industry accounts for a considerable proportion in large agriculture. According to statistics, in 2006, the total area of fruit tree cultivation in China reached100000 hm2, with a total output of 68.4 million tons, accounting for 18% and 14% of the world respectively, ranking first in the world. The total planting area of vegetables reached17.76 million hm2, and the total output was 365.438+0.3 billion tons, accounting for 37% and 4654.38+0% of the world respectively, ranking first in the world. Shandong is also a big agricultural province. In some areas, such as Qixia, Laiyang and other counties and cities in Jiaodong, fruits and vegetables have become the leading industries of agriculture, forming some leading enterprises, creating a group of entrepreneurs and driving a family of farmers to become rich. At present, the horticultural industry has gradually moved from scattered, unorganized and random planting methods to regionalization, scale and standardization, and the industrial chain from planting to post-harvest storage, transportation and processing has basically taken shape. With the rapid development of economy and science and technology, the industrial chain will be continuously extended and improved. In this process, a large number of professional and technical personnel need to participate, and technical difficulties in the industry will also put forward new research topics for scientific research. At the same time, the decision-making and management of governments at all levels can not be separated from people who understand business. All these provide a broad space for the employment of horticultural students. With the improvement of people's living standards, the demand for horticultural products will continue to increase, and there is great room for development in export and domestic sales. In particular, it provides good development opportunities and prospects for the horticulture major in our school. Being located in the center of horticulture industry, the employment prospects of horticulture professionals are good.
