How to make paper lanterns Three methods of making paper lanterns
Methods 1: Decorative lanterns were made.
1, cut two round pieces of paper. Find a round object at random, press it on paper, then draw two circles along its outline, and then cut it out with scissors. The two circles should be similar in size. The size of circular paper can be determined freely. The bigger the paper, the bigger the lantern. Circular objects that can be used to draw circles include plates, lids of ice cream cones, bottoms of washbasins, and so on.
The types of paper can also be determined freely, including ordinary white printing paper, colored cardboard, patterned wrapping paper and so on.
2. Fold the first round paper. First, fold a round piece of paper in half twice, so you get a small slice of pizza-shaped fan-shaped paper.
3. Draw a line. Draw a crisscross arc below along the fan-shaped arc (starting from one side and ending where the other side is absent). Specifically, draw an arc with the same radian from the left edge along the arc until it is close to the right edge, about 2.5-3.8 cm away from the right edge, and then draw an arc with the same radian from the right edge until it is close to the left edge. Continue to draw a left and right arc until you reach the root of the sector.
4. Cut off a small triangle at the fan-shaped root to make a small hole appear in the middle of the paper.
5. Cut along the arc. Cut along the arc you just drew with scissors, try not to deviate, but don't be too demanding of perfection, just be careful not to cut the line.
6. Turn on the fan. Be careful not to tear the tissue paper when opening it, and then restore the paper to a circle.
7. Another round piece of paper is treated in the same way. Repeat steps 2-6 for the second piece of paper, so that you have two identical circular pieces of paper with patterns.
8. Stick the pieces of paper together. Glue the edges of two round pieces of paper together, being careful not to paste the inside, and then wait for the glue to dry completely.
9. Turn on the lanterns. Gently pinch the non-pasted part and pull it out, so that the cut paper makes the erected lantern present a delicate posture. Tie a thread at the top of the lantern (that is, go through the hole and make the nearest circle), and then you can hang it.
Method 2: Make lanterns with handles.
1. Fold the paper in half. Find a piece of paper and fold it in half along the long side. The size and thickness of paper are not limited, but it can generally be printed paper, cardboard and scrapbook paper can also be used. However, the thinner the paper, the more likely the lantern will collapse due to its own weight. Hard colored paper or beautiful scrapbook paper can make very beautiful lanterns.
2. cut the paper. Cut a paper tape of equal width perpendicular to the hem, but don't cut it all. The length of paper tape is up to you. The longer the paper tape, the better the light transmission effect, but the easier it is for lanterns to soften and collapse. The width of the paper tape can also be freely determined. The width of paper tape determines the number of paper tapes and the appearance of lanterns. Generally speaking, 2.5 cm is the most suitable width.
3. Roll the paper into a tube. Hold the short edge of the paper, wrap the paper into a tube and fix it with tape or glue. Pay attention to the paper edge seam must be glued firmly. If you use adhesive tape, stick it inside so as not to affect the appearance. You can also staple the two ends of the paper together with a stapler.
4. Make a lantern handle. Cut another piece of paper to make the lantern handle. Ordinary printed paper can be made into lantern handles, which are 15cm long and 2.5cm wide. However, if you want to hang lanterns directly, you don't need to make lantern handles, just hang them through the lanterns with ribbons or threads.
5. Fix the lantern handle on the top of the lantern from the inside with glue or adhesive tape. If your lantern looks too straight, you can press it and the cut paper tape will slowly protrude. The harder the paper, the greater the pressure.
6. Use finished products. Now you can put candles in lanterns and hang them on the ceiling or as decorations. As lanterns are made of paper, you must find a glass before putting candles. Put the candle in the glass, and then put the glass in the lantern. The glass had better be higher, so that it is not easy for the flame to burn lanterns and cause a fire. In addition, if you want to put candles in lanterns, you must put the lanterns on a flat table and don't hang them.
