Fuzhou Sambo refers to the traditional folk craft of making bodiless lacquerware, oil-paper umbrella and horn comb in Fuzhou, Fujian.

Fuzhou Sanbao handicrafts include Fuzhou culture, local characteristics and craft level.

Introduction of Fuzhou Sambo Crafts;

1. There are many kinds of paper umbrellas in Fuzhou, mainly including flower umbrellas, bright oil umbrellas, silk cotton paper umbrellas, blue-green boron umbrellas, double-layer flower umbrellas, silk printed umbrellas, silk printed children's umbrellas and so on. Like other handicrafts, even a small paper umbrella cannot be made casually.

The umbrella rib must be an old bamboo in the mountains of northern Fujian for more than 5 years, with great toughness and elasticity. After special treatment, it can resist mildew, corrosion and moth. The umbrella cover is made of refined cotton paper unique to this province, which has strong tension. It is made of pure pollution-free persimmon oil, and then coated with sticky tung oil, painted with flowers and birds, figures, landscapes and other patterns, commonly known as "flower umbrella."

2. Fuzhou horn comb has a long history. 1976, an ancient tomb of the Southern Song Dynasty was unearthed in Xindian, a northern suburb of Fuzhou. Among the funerary objects, there are six horn combs made of black buffalo horns, which indicates that it has a history of at least 700 years. Among the handicrafts in Fuzhou, streets and alleys can be seen everywhere, and the only one that still maintains the "civilian nature" is the horn comb. Walking into an ordinary handicraft shop, most of them sell horn combs.

3. Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware began in the Southern Song Dynasty, which is a traditional art treasure with unique national style and strong local characteristics. It is said that during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the painter Shen Shaoan found in a temple that the plaque at the gate was rotten, but the bottom embryo of the lacquered gray summer cloth was intact.
