What is a sensor? What are its components? What is the role of each part?
A sensor is a detection device that senses and responds to a specific change in the external environment and converts that change into a readable, analyzable signal. Sensors are usually composed of three parts: a sensitive element, a conversion element, and a measurement circuit. The role is as follows:
Sensitive element: the sensitive element is the most direct contact with the measured object in the sensor part. It is responsible for sensing specific changes in the object to be measured or in the environment, such as temperature, pressure, light and so on. The sensitive element converts these changes into physical or chemical signals, such as displacement, resistance, capacitance, and so on.
Converting element: Converting element is the element that converts the physical or chemical signals output from the sensitive element into electrical signals. For example, thermocouples convert temperature changes into potential differences, and resistance strain gauges convert pressure changes into resistance value changes. The output signals of the converting elements usually require further processing and measurement.
Measurement circuits: Measurement circuits are circuits that are used to convert the electrical signals output from a conversion element into readable, analyzable electrical signals. These circuits are usually designed for specific conversion elements and sensitive components such as amplifiers, filters, modems, etc. Measurement circuits amplify and adjust the signal to make it easier to analyze and record.
Features of Sensors
High Accuracy: Modern sensor technology has evolved to a very high level of accuracy to meet the needs of a wide range of applications. High Reliability: Sensors are subjected to strict quality control and testing, and have a high degree of reliability.
Good stability: the sensor has good stability and reliability, can be in a variety of environments for long-term stable work. Strong applicability: the sensor can adapt to a variety of different application environments, including high temperature, low temperature, high pressure, high humidity and other harsh environments.
