All translated works of Qiu Yanfu
Yan Fu (1854 65438+10.8—192165438+10.27), formerly known as Ling, was later renamed Fu, with a numerical name. Han nationality, a native of Houguan County, Fujian Province, was an influential bourgeois enlightenment thinker, famous translator and translator in modern times.
He used to be the director of the office of the Translation Bureau of Shi Jing University, the president of Fudan University, the president of Anqing Normal University, and the editor-in-chief of the terminology museum in Qing Dynasty. During his teaching in Beiyang Naval Academy founded by Li Hongzhang, he trained the first batch of naval talents in modern China, translated the theory of evolution and founded the National Newspaper.
Yan Fu's translation criteria of "faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance" had a far-reaching impact on later translation work. He was an influential bourgeois enlightenment thinker in the late Qing Dynasty and one of the "advanced China people" who sought truth from western countries in China's modern history.

Yan Fu is an epoch-making translator in the history of modern translation in China, and also a pioneer in creating a complete translation standard in China.
