Chinese New Year in Hometown

According to the old rules in hometown, the celebration of Chinese New Year starts almost from the month of Lunar New Year.

On the day of Laba, people drink Laba congee. Laha congee is delicious, it contains cinnamon, coix rice, cereal, glutinous rice, green beans, red beans, kidney beans and peanuts.

New Year's Eve is really lively. Families rush to make New Year's dishes, the smell of meat and wine echoing in the sky for a long time, adults outside the door to put couplets, home to put beautiful New Year's paintings, which are all night lights, firecrackers sound all night long. Those who work or work outside must rush back to have a reunion dinner. This is also the night when people have to keep watch.

The first day of the Lunar New Year is a different story. People go out to pay their respects, usually the younger ones to their elders, and children are given a special amount of New Year's money, some of which they buy toys and some of which they save up to buy school supplies in the future.

At the Lantern Festival, supermarkets are especially busy, and people buy Lanterns to cook and eat at home, in order to have a family reunion and sweetness.

By the sixteenth day of the Lunar New Year, the Spring Festival in my hometown will be over, and people will start their busy lives again.
