Handmade pot tradition
Many laymen will ask, drinking tea and collecting and viewing all use the same pot. Why are different production methods so different? Obviously, hand-made or semi-hand-made teapots are more infused with the painstaking efforts and souls of craftsmen, reflecting the unique spirit of this teapot, which is incomparable to the grouting pots produced by assembly line.
This is also the reason why the value of handmade pots is much higher than that of mold pots and grouting pots. After the test of time, you will feel that a handmade pot gives people a completely different feeling.
There are three basic forming methods of teapot: manual, mold plugging and grouting.
1, all by hand:
All parts of the pot are made by hand, and then the pot is shaped through the experience of the pot maker and his own aesthetics. Finally, it was integrated with handmade glue, that is, a complete and exquisite handmade teapot was completed.
2, die blank:
First, rough prototypes of all parts of the pot are made by hand, then they are put into prefabricated molds, and then the shapes of the prototype blanks are divided into blocks with the molds, and finally they are glued into a whole by hand.
3. Grouting:
Grouting is also called "grouting" in the production process. Grind the clay that is not completely composed of purple sand into mud and pour it into the mold. After completely drying, remove the mold, and then repair and spray the blank.
All-hand-made pots can also be divided into three types: surrounding pot molding, beating pot molding, embedding pot molding and sticking pot molding. Different pot shapes need to be shaped in different ways. The process of making pots by hand is not as simple as ordinary laymen understand, and it requires the accumulated experience and skilled operation skills of pot makers, as well as the understanding of the pot type made.
An accomplished craftsman should not only have the basic skills of bamboo, wood and iron, but also have his own unique ideas on modeling and details, and be able to keep innovating and making progress in the process. The production time of the whole hand pot is longer than the other two, and the value is of course different.
At first, there was no mold to make pots. It can be seen that the mold pot is developed by increasing production. Compared with hand-made pots, molds have ready-made shapes to restrain mud, and can also complete many shapes that are difficult to shape by hand, even more exquisite and beautiful.
However, mold pots are not all made of molds, some are semi-manual, and some are molded by molds.
Grouting pot is the fastest and simplest molding method, with rough shape and fine workmanship, suitable for mass production and high yield, so its value is relatively low.
A good teapot can integrate philosophy, tea man spirit, natural rhythm, painting and calligraphy.
