Ideological and political work is also facing challenges, especially for college students. The combination of music education and ideological and political education plays an important role in ideological and political education. This paper mainly analyzes from the following three aspects: Music education is beneficial to college students' ideological and political education, which can promote their all-round development and enrich the content of ideological and political education.

College students are the future of the motherland and the hope of the nation. How to strengthen the ideological and political education of college students is related to the growth of college students and the prosperity of the country. Music education can enhance the attraction and appeal of ideological and political education, is a new way of ideological and political education, and plays an increasingly important role in strengthening and improving ideological and political education for college students. Music education takes aesthetics as the core and belongs to the category of aesthetic education. The ideological and political education in the school is carried out with excellent vocal music and instrumental music, which is full of health and rich feelings, which undoubtedly greatly promotes the reform of ideological and political education for college students. It makes colleges and universities have new thinking and new understanding on how to further improve ideological and political education, because it not only conforms to the development characteristics of college students' subjectivity, but also finds a foothold for ideological and political education. First of all, music education is beneficial to the ideological and political education of college students.

Ideological and political education also needs emotional foundation, which is a combination of the two. Ideological and political education should not be empty preaching, but should infect students with beautiful music and lyrics, so that students can integrate into a good emotional atmosphere and receive education in a subtle way. College students already have a strong artistic aesthetic ability. By appreciating music works, they can gain aesthetic feelings, have a new understanding of life and understand the truth, goodness and beauty in life more accurately. The ideological and political education of college students is also to enable them to establish lofty life ideals and correct outlook on life and values. Therefore, introducing music education into college students' ideological and political education class can make college students better receive ideological education. According to the theory of educational psychology, we can see that students' learning motivation is clear, and learning efficiency will be improved. In moral education, students' learning motivation is not clear and their enthusiasm is not high, and their learning motivation is far less than that of other subjects, such as English, computer and mathematics. Therefore, how to motivate college students' learning motivation in ideological and political education is an important problem we are facing, and music plays an important role in motivating college students to accept ideological and political education. Music shows rich and colorful social life content to college students in vivid form. Students also understand the truth of life and society by appreciating works of art, thus thinking about the meaning of life and the trend of social development, and exploring its solutions. Therefore, music education can promote college students' acceptance of ideological and political education.

Music creation needs free association, and music itself has the characteristics of rich images and forms of expression, which is conducive to cultivating people's personality, promoting people's thinking and stimulating people's creativity. Music can make people full of passion and fantasy, make people's thinking active, stimulate creative inspiration, and thus cultivate college students' innovative ability. At the same time, ideological education should also cultivate the creativity of college students, so from the characteristics of music education, music education is very conducive to cultivating the innovative ability of college students' ideological education. In a word, music education can promote the all-round development of college students and is very beneficial to their healthy growth.

Thirdly, music education can enrich the content of ideological and political education.

Ideological and political education must be based on feelings, otherwise it will only become empty preaching, will not arouse people's interest, and will not be able to achieve the purpose of educating people. Therefore, we must overcome some disadvantages of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the past. On the one hand, we should spread the extensive art of ideological and political education, give play to the important role of music education in cultivating talents, and at the same time, we should strive to form a unique teaching method in ideological and political education, make music education form a perfect system in colleges and universities, and make ideological and political education in colleges and universities change from simple professional knowledge education to comprehensive cultural quality education, so as to make contributions to cultivating high-quality talents.
