The Basic Display of Rizhao Museum
Rizhao Longshan Culture Exhibition is a cultural relic exhibition with the characteristics of Rizhao City. Rizhao is the most concentrated area of Longshan culture in Shandong Province, and there are more than 100 sites of Longshan culture that have been discovered. As early as 1936, the first generation of archaeologists from China-Yin Da and Liang Siyong from the former Institute of History and Language of Academia Sinica-began to excavate the sites of the two cities. After the founding of New China, the Institute of Archaeology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Institute of Archaeology of Shandong Province made many excavations on Liangcheng, Dantu, Donghai Valley and Yaowangcheng respectively. Since 1995, the Sino-American joint archaeological team has conducted in-depth investigation, exploration and excavation of the area centered on the two cities for nine consecutive years, and obtained rich physical data. On this basis, the characteristics of Longshan culture in Rizhao area and its position and role in the development of ancient culture in China were deeply studied, and fruitful research results were obtained, which played an important role in exploring the cultural characteristics of Longshan era and studying the origin of ancient civilization. Rizhao Longshan Culture Exhibition shows unearthed stone tools, jade articles, pottery and other cultural relics, as well as animal specimens and architectural relics, especially pottery-making technology and architectural technology, which reproduces the development of primitive social productive forces and the emergence of classes and shows the laws of social development and progress.
Haiqu Han Tomb Exhibition
Rizhao Haiqu Han Tomb Exhibition is a key exhibition in Rizhao. Rizhao Haiqu Han Dynasty Cemetery was selected as one of the "Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries in 2002" because of its complete tomb structure, unique burial customs and a large number of exquisite unearthed cultural relics, which has an important influence in archaeology. There are rich funerary objects here, including pottery, bronzes, lacquerware, wood, bamboo, jade, iron and horns. More than 1200 pieces were unearthed. Among them, 500 pieces of lacquer wood are the most abundant and best preserved in Shandong, which can be called the most exquisite lacquer wood in the north. In particular, a wooden coffin with bones was excavated, and the textile pattern covered on the coffin is still clearly visible. A large number of exquisite funerary objects unearthed from Haiqu Han Tomb show that its users are richer than princes, reflecting that Haiqu County was a developed area in economy and culture at that time. The coffin structure preservation of Haiqu cemetery is also the best in Shandong Province at present, which has high research value. The historical value, scientific value and artistic value of the cultural relics unearthed from the Han Tomb of Haiqu in Rizhao were systematically displayed in the cultural relics exhibition of Haiqu in Rizhao.
