Huo qubing's tomb sculpture belongs to mausoleum sculpture. They are huge, built on mountains and placed in the natural environment. Considering the combination of sculpture and environment, they can also be said to be the earliest large-scale environmental sculptures in China.

Huoqubing Tomb Stone Carvings are a group of monumental large stone carvings, which were built in Xingping County, Shaanxi Province in 1 17 BC. According to Records of the Historian, Huo Qubing took part in the war against Xiongnu at the age of 65,438+08, and won six attacks on Xiongnu. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty built a mansion for him because of his repeated meritorious deeds. He once said that the famous saying "Xiongnu is not extinct, and there is no place to live".

The general died of illness at the age of 24. Not far east of Maoling, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty deliberately chose Huo Qubing's tomb site, built a tomb similar to Qilian Mountain, and asked China craftsmen to carve giant stone statues and beasts for him in front of and on the tomb, in recognition of his exploits, which also implied that Huo Qubing was invincible in Qilian Mountain before his death, which was a great shock to Xiongnu.

There are 14 stone carvings in Huo qubing's tomb, including stepping on Xiongnu, lying horse, prancing horse, crouching tiger, lying elephant, Shi Wa, Shiyu II, savage, beast eating sheep, lying cow, man and bear, wild boar, lying toad and so on. There are two other inscriptions.
